DHL Launches GreenLink Lead Logistics Provider Service

BONN, Germany--()--DHL Freight, the road freight arm of Deutsche Post DHL, is launching a global Lead Logistics Provider (LLP) service under the new brand name GreenLink. GreenLink will consolidate DHL Freight’s current and future LLP accounts across the world, leveraging the expertise from dozens of customers on three continents.

LLP is the complete management and physical execution of DHL Freights customer's logistics processes and transportation requirements. It improves customer’s supply chains by providing logistics optimization and transportation requirements tailored to specific customer needs through reduced lead times, improved cash flow, and compliance. Carefully balancing risk and reward, DHL Freight’s LLP offering combines both transactional services and a neutral management layer, offering agility with service and cost based on a commercial approach.

GreenLink acts as a single-source solution for transportation management, with a focus on optimization and innovation across the supply chain. DHL Freight currently has some 60 LLP customers across Europe, the US and Asia. GreenLink uses a state-of-the-art, proprietary transportation management system called Plato to support its LLP service.

GreenLink offers a host of LLP services, which are modular in nature and are customized based on customer needs. Services range from transportation procurement, freight audit and payment, transportation and carrier management to network design and consultation, to name a few. GreenLink utilizes a stringent due diligence process in collaboration with the customer to determine if there is optimization potential. Savings often range in the double-digit percentage points over the course of the contract.
