IRVING, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NEC Corporation of America (NEC), a leading provider and integrator of IT, communications, managed services and biometric solutions, will introduce new biometrics-based solutions for the hospitality industry during the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition & Conference (HITEC) on June 24-27 in Minneapolis, MN. The company will also be showcasing an array of unified communications solutions in its booth at the conference.
NEC will be demonstrating two biometrics solutions to help enhance customer engagement. First, NEC will demonstrate a VIP guest recognition solution using its NeoFace® Watch product. NeoFace Watch integrates with existing video surveillance systems to extract facial images in real-time or from web cameras and immediately match the unique facial data to a property’s VIP guest database. This opt-in marketing solution helps hotels, resorts, casinos or clubs, for example, identify a VIP guest and alert staff immediately when the guest approaches the front door, desk, kiosk, club or gaming floor.
“Being able to identify VIP guests immediately could enable the front desk staff to have room information pulled up before the guest steps up to the registration desk and be able to greet the guest by name,” said Raffie Beroukhim, vice president, Biometrics Solutions, NEC Corporation of America. “Overall, this capability helps enhance a VIP guest’s experience through personalization of services and increases customer satisfaction with the property.”
The second biometrics solution to be demonstrated is a smart content delivery system. This solution uses analysis to anonymously capture visitor attributes, such as gender and age. Using this demographic information, hotel marketers can deliver near instantaneous and targeted content to a specific guest, at a specific time, based on the demographics of age and gender.
“The use of biometrics in hospitality is emerging and could be beneficially applied to other areas of the business, including security, guest check-in line control, marketing traffic analysis, and more,” said Kevin Ruhman, hospitality vertical practice leader, NEC Corporation of America. “We’re seeing its application within the hospitality market expand to help organizations not with only internal operations, but also to improve the guest experience.”
