NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sterling James and The Miles Partnership announced today the joining of their insurance practices. The Miles Partnership is a leading London-based executive search firm founded by Miles Broadbent in 1996. Sterling James is a New York-based global specialist in executive search and leadership advisory services for the insurance sector founded by Erin Hamrick in 2011.
The new affiliation creates a global platform for executive search services for Sterling James with offices now in New York, London, Chicago and Dubai.
Erin Hamrick, managing partner at Sterling James, explained that Ian Lazarus, who leads the insurance practice at Miles, brings a deep expertise and 30-years of experience in insurance search advisory, particularly in the property-casualty and insurance brokerage markets. His insurance clients include both public and private insurance corporations. Mr. Lazarus has lived and worked in London and the United States.
Ms. Hamrick said, “Ian understands both the insurance sector and the dynamics of executive search consulting. His experience at the Lloyd’s cover-holder Global Special Risks, Inc. and his tenure at the Willis Group combined with his experience as a senior member of the insurance practice at Russell Reynolds Associates forms the basis of his exceptional reputation in the insurance community.”
She said that the skills and experience in executive search and the insurance markets of The Miles Partnership complements the skills and experience of the principals at Sterling James.
Ms. Hamrick spent successful careers in the insurance practices at Spencer Stuart and Heidrick & Struggles before forming Sterling James two years ago.
Mr. Lazarus said, “Erin Hamrick’s career at The Hartford and in commercial insurance brokerage places our two firms in a unique position to serve the insurance sector.”
Ms. Hamrick noted that “as Sterling James reached its two-year anniversary, we recognized the value of combining our practice with Ian and The Miles Partnership. This will allow us to offer an even broader level of services to our clients in London, Bermuda, the United States and throughout the world.”
Mr. Lazarus said that within the insurance market niche, “Sterling James and The Miles Partnership bring together a capability that spans the global insurance markets. Ann Keller has joined Sterling James from Heidrick & Struggles giving us a footprint in Chicago. Our new office in Dubai extends our reach to the Middle East. With Sterling James’ New York-based operations and the Miles operations in London and Europe, we now offer seamless global services to our clients.”
Ms. Hamrick said, “The Miles Partnership shares the same values and way of doing business as we do and we look forward to being able to serve our clients on a single platform with an even greater depth of expertise and understanding.”
In other news, Erin Hamrick will present the results of a major study of insurance CEOs and board members at the IICF Women in Insurance Global Conference on June 12 in New York City.
