CARACAS, Venezuela--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As part of its multinational expansion and consolidation, Inteligensa, founded in 1997 by Venanzio Cipollitti and founding member of Intelcav in 2000, acquired all of the shares of its partners to complete 100% control of Intelcav, based in Brazil. Intelcav is one of the most important producers of banking and security cards and is ranked eighth largest card producer in the world by the prestigious publication, Nilson Report.
With three manufacturing plants in Brazil, Intelcav produces credit and debit smart cards for banks, already personalized, which are directly sent to customers. It also fabricates cell phone SIM Cards, pre-paid voucher cards for food, commercial and loyalty cards. During the last years, Intelcav has focused on electronic ID documents, such as driver licenses and PKI cards, and also Health Cards, which store electronic medical and pharmaceutical records on the card´s chip.
In 2010 Intelcav incorporated a new plant for the production of RFID cards, located in Manaus, in order to attend the growing market of cards containing microcircuits and antennas, which are used in pre-paid massive transport. The company also has a modern research and development center, thanks to which Intelcav is a pioneer in innovative products such as ecological cards made from recycled PET and biodegradable PVC, as well as electronic Display Cards (tokens), for online transactions authentication with high security.
The acquisition was made effective on May 27th 2013, in Sao Paulo, as was announced by Venanzio Cipollitti, President of Inteligensa and founder of Intelcav. He also said that with this transaction, Intelcav and Inteligensa are fully integrated to combine their talents and infrastructure, towards a better customer service and to expand the portfolio of technological products. Intelcav is already known in the Brazilian market due to the high quality of its cards, the high level of security of its production plants and its efficiency to serve customers with dedication.
Additionally, Cipollitti informed that from now on Intelcav will have a superior international projection and a faster penetration of world markets, together with the Group companies. Inteligensa is a multinational organization, whose companies have a direct presence in 12 countries of Latin America and North America. In 2011, Inteligensa acquired one of the largest and most modern banking and smart card manufacturing plant of Europe, located in Sardinia Island, Italy, that produces for Europe, Middle East, and Africa. In that same year Inteligensa built its new and high tech plant to produce RFID electronic devices and personalize banking cards, located in Naucalpan, Mexico City.
