STOCKHOLM--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nasdaq OMX-listed Seamless (STO:SEAM) has concluded an agreement with Visma for the mobile payment solution SEQR. The agreement means that traders in the convenience store and retail industries who use Visma’s cash register system can allow their customers to pay via mobile phone. For Seamless this means that the company receives a transaction fee for every payment made via SEQR.
Visma simplifies and automates commercial processes by supplying software, payment services and in-store computer solutions. The group’s products and services are used by 340,000 Northern European customers and its net sales totalled NOK 5,749 million in 2012.
“We are delighted that SEQR is now available in Visma Retail’s cash register system. Because of Visma’s very strong position in the Scandinavian convenience store and retail industries, more users now have the chance to experience just how simple it is to pay by mobile phone,” says Peter Fredell, CEO of Seamless and continues:
“Retailers now have the possibility to avoid the high fees charged by card companies. They are also getting a very secure solution.”
The agreement means that, as of today, SEQR will be included as a function in most of Visma Retail’s in-store computer systems.
“We are seeing a lot of interest in SEQR among our customers and we can confirm that our solution has the technology, speed and security that our industry needs. SEQR is simple to use and can be deployed by retailers in their stores without needing to invest in costly equipment. Retailers also have a fantastic opportunity to boost efficiency and reduce their transaction costs,” says Sven Arnquist, Head of Visma Retail in Sweden.
Paying by SEQR is simplicity itself. The customers simply scan a QR/NFC code using their SEQR apps at the checkout and then approve the payment with their PIN codes. Customers can also collect all their receipts in their mobile phones.
Seamless is one of the world’s leading providers of payment solutions for mobile phones, handling more than 3.1 billion transactions each year via 525,000 active sales outlets. Combined with over eleven years’ experience and a presence in 26 countries, this gives Seamless a strong position in the market for mobile payments. It is the company’s unique transaction platform that enables SEQR. Seamless is traded on Nasdaq OMX Stockholm, under the SEAM ticker.
SEQR, developed by Seamless, is the fastest and easiest mobile payments solution currently available on the market. All customers need to do is use the SEQR app to scan the QR/NFC code at the POS terminal and approve the payment by entering their PIN. SEQR works just as well for physical transactions as for e-commerce, and is both faster and more secure than card payments. The technology behind the solution means that there is no investment cost for retailers. All that is required is a QR/NFC code sticker at the POS terminal. In addition, the low transaction charges allow the retailer to save money.
