Bruce G. Bodaken Appointed to Rite Aid Board of Directors

CAMP HILL, Pa.--()--Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE: RAD) today announced that its Board of Directors has elected Bruce G. Bodaken, former Blue Shield of California chairman, president and CEO, to the Rite Aid Board.

Mr. Bodaken, 61, spent 18 years at Blue Shield of California, headquartered in San Francisco, including his tenure as chairman, president and CEO from 2000-2012. He served as the company’s president and chief operating officer from 1995-2000 and as executive vice president and chief operating officer from 1994-1995. Before that, he served as senior vice president and associate chief operating officer of F.H.P. Inc., a managed care provider, from 1990 to 1994 and held various positions at F.H.P. from 1980 to 1990, including regional vice president. Mr. Bodaken is currently a director and audit committee chairman of WageWorks, Inc. He is also a member of the Institute of Medicine’s Roundtable on Value & Science-Driven Health Care.

Mr. Bodaken earned a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University and a master’s degree from the University of Colorado.
