Pilot Photonics Demonstrates Optical Comb Solution At OFC/NFOEC 2013

Free Spectral Range Tunable Optical Comb Adds Flexibility, Stability and Simplicity

OFC/NFOEC 2013

DUBLIN--()--Pilot Photonics, a privately held company producing optical comb subsystems for next generation optical transmission applications, will demonstrate their Optical Wavelength Comb Source (OWCS) at OFC/NFOEC 2013, booth #2309. The Pilot Photonics optical comb source is the only optical comb on the market offering tunable comb spacing. The source offers excellent stability and turnkey operation making it the ideal comb source for researchers investigating optical network systems at 400G and beyond. This optical comb is particularly relevant to designers of 400Gbps and 1Tbps transmission systems and will facilitate the creation of a stable testing environment.

In addition to this live demonstration, Dr. Stan Lumish, chief executive officer, Pilot Photonics will participate in the following panel workshop presentation:

WHAT: Entitled, “Photonics Startups and Entrepreneurship.” Dr. Stan Lumish will present on the topic, "A Photonics Start Up in Dublin: Why Combs, Why Dublin, Why now?"

WHEN: The “Photonics Startups and Entrepreneurship” panel will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 3:30 PM PDT to 5:00 PM PDT.

WHERE: The panel session will be held in the Theater II area, located on the OFC/NFOEC 2013 exhibition floor at the Anaheim Convention Center.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Individuals looking for practical guidelines and dos and don'ts of starting a photonics company.

WHY TO ATTEND: The focus of the presentation is to share key insights and lessons learned that are useful for any entrepreneur wanting to start a company or develop a new business. To view the session overview: http://bit.ly/14Qea9h.

In addition, Dublin City University and Pilot Photonics will be presenting a research paper at the conference entitled: "Flexible Optical Comb Source for Super Channel Systems." This paper will be presented on Thursday, March 21, 2013, session #OTH3I.
