NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Global executive search and assessment firm Russell Reynolds Associates announced today that it is supporting as a platform partner Lean In, an online platform that offers women the information and system of support they need to pursue their ambitions. Russell Reynolds Associates’ participation in Lean In’s programs is rooted in the firm’s commitment to diversifying executive teams and board rooms around the globe.
“At Russell Reynolds Associates, we support women “leaning in” to their ambitions,” says Jana Rich, Global Co-Leader of the Digital Transformation Practice at Russell Reynolds Associates. “We are proud that nearly one third of the executives we recruit onto leadership teams and boards are women.”
Sparked by Sheryl Sandberg’s book “Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead,” Lean In’s programs are a continuation of her vision and that of like-minded men and women for a more equal world. All profits of the book go toward funding Lean In’s activities.
“Lean In combines the best of social networking, online learning and small peer groups to create a community that can move us towards a more equal world,” said Sheryl Sandberg, a co-founder of Lean In and the chief operating office of Facebook. “As we start using the talents of the entire population, our institutions will be more productive, our homes will be happier, and our children will no longer be held back by narrow stereotypes.”
The Lean In platform provides a global community for exchange of ideas, education materials produced in partnership with the Clayment Institute at Stanford, as well as meeting circles that are powered by Mightybell for small groups to meet monthly.
“We hope women and men everywhere decide to lean in. When people come together around a common goal, it creates opportunities for real change,” said Rachel Thomas, co-founder and president of Lean In. “Our goal is to offer a growing library of free world-class education and support materials for individuals and organizations to use in ways that are valuable and meaningful to them.”
“Given our Silicon Valley roots, we wanted to not just build a website, but to create an interactive community,” said Gina Bianchini, the founder of Mightybell and a co-founder of Lean In. “Unlike traditional group software, which isolates instead of connects, we wanted to harness the power of Mightybell by linking the Lean In Circles to a larger network, without sacrificing the privacy of individual conversations.”
