Two enVista Associates Named “Pros to Know” by Supply & Demand Chain Executive Magazine

enVista Managing Partners Stephen Craig and Davison Schopmeyer Selected Based on Their Transportation and Supply Chain Expertise & Contributions

INDIANAPOLIS--()--enVista, a leading supply chain consulting and IT services firm, announced today that two of its leaders, Stephen Craig, Managing Partner Transportation Management, and Davison Schopmeyer, Managing Partner Supply Chain Services, have each been selected as a 2013 Pro to Know by Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine. According to Supply & Demand Chain Executive, Craig and Schopmeyer were selected as exceptional supply chain executives out of an extremely competitive group of nearly 400 nominees.

“The efforts that a number of the industry’s leading executives continue to take to improve their business’s functionality and in turn, progress the global supply chain—this was one of the main reasons we started the ‘Pros to Know’ awards,” said Barry Hochfelder, Editor, Supply & Demand Chain Executive.

Honoring the supply chain’s best and brightest, Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s “Pros to Know” include professionals proactively working to improve their business’s functions in a number of categories—including manufacturing and production output; procurement; logistics; risk mitigation strategies; sourcing; financial operations; packaging and distribution; transportation; and much more.

enVista President and CEO Jim Barnes said, “I am extremely proud that Davison and Stephen were selected to receive this honor. They bring exceptional supply chain expertise, professionalism, enthusiasm, and dedication to our clients, our company and to the broader supply chain industry. We are fortunate to have them on our leadership team, and we greatly value their contributions and insight.”

Stephen Craig has over 20 years of experience helping businesses optimize their transportation processes and significantly reduce transportation costs. He has delivered outstanding results for several clients while at enVista, including: Dillards, Hibbett Sports, Hexcel, Sport Chalet, Stein Mart, Shale-Inland, Woodbolt, and AmerisourceBergen. In 2012, under Craig’s direction, enVista’s Transportation Services team saved enVista clients tens-of-millions of dollars on their transportation spend. Craig is currently the President of the National Capital Area Roundtable chapter of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP).

Said Troy Mabe, Global Logistics and Warehouse Manager at Hexcel Corporation, “Stephen uses a broad range of functional, analytical, and scientific expertise to produce innovative solutions to problems. He designs new or improved concepts, methods and systems that create world-class logistics programs, and he has the kind of experience that blends innovation and new technology with common sense and moxie.”

Davison Schopmeyer has 22 years of experience helping leading companies drive more value out of their supply chain. He has led supply chain projects focused on labor optimization, inventory optimization, transportation optimization and supply chain network design. enVista clients benefitting from Schopmeyer’s expertise include: The Container Store, Performance Bike, h.h. gregg, and Lands’ End. Schopmeyer is a recognized thought leader in the supply chain industry and has spoken at several industry conferences, including EPC National Conference, Software User Conference, and CSCMP.

Keith Barnes, Director of Supply Chain and International Systems at Lands’ End, said, “Lands’ End engaged with enVista to define our Distributed Order Management requirements as we look to replace our legacy OMS/WMS systems with modern, flexible software solutions. Davison lead this project and provided great insight into industry trends and best practices. Faced with a rather complex, multi-DC, multi-channel process, he was able to quickly assess our current situation and provide us with a clear direction for our future DOM needs. Davison’s approach was very professional and collaborative, and he brought with him a wealth of experience, from both an operational as well as a technical perspective. He was the key to the success of this effort.”

Hotchfelder added, “It’s not always initially clear as to how broad the scale of the supply chain and its challenges really is. If there are those present in the industry who are working to overcome such issues and grow the global supply chain at the same time, they should get the recognition they deserve for their achievements.”

About 2013 Supply & Demand Chain Executive Pros to Know Awards

Now in its 13th year, the Supply & Demand Chain Executive “Pros to Know” awards recognize both ends of the supply chain. This includes honoring the “providers,” which includes individuals from software firms, service providers, consultancies or academia who helped their supply chain clients or the supply chain community prepare to meet industry challenges. This also includes honoring the “practitioners,” e.g., those supply chain executives who demonstrated leadership by managing risk in the supply chain; provided competitive advantage; and delivered value to the bottom line.

The 2013 Pros to Know article will be included in the March 2013 issue of Supply & Demand Chain Executive, released in mid-March.
