2013 Brand Use Study Ranks Andersen Tops in Two Leading Product Categories

  • BUILDER magazine subscribers rank Andersen #1 in Wood & Clad-Wood Windows and Patio Doors
  • Builders say Andersen is tops in Brand Familiarity, Brands Used in the Past Two Years, Brands Used the Most and Quality across both product categories
  • For 15 consecutive years, Andersen Windows has led the results of BUILDER’s Brand Use Study for those categories

BAYPORT, Minn.--()--The results are in: builders rank Andersen wood & clad-wood windows and patio doors number one for brand familiarity, use and quality in BUILDER magazine’s 2013 Brand Use Study.

The survey sample of more than 2,800 BUILDER magazine subscribers put Andersen at the top in two product segments — Windows: Wood & Clad-Wood, and Doors: Patio. The 2013 study placed Andersen products number one in quality, brand familiarity, brands used in the past two years and brands used the most.

“It’s reassuring to see that the things we value in our company and our products — quality, selection and reliability — are also recognized by our customers,” Andersen Corporation Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Sal Abbate said. “This recognition is a testament to the strength of our brand and our products, but also to the support and dedication of our dealers and loyal customers. A sincere thank you for their representation of the Andersen brand.”

In addition to maintaining the top spot in 2013, Andersen products have consistently scored higher year-over-year in product quality, in particular. The 2013 study shows Andersen quality of wood & clad-wood windows and patio doors respectively ranked 6.14 and 6.13 out of a possible 7. Other top rankings for 2013 show 83 percent of wood & clad-wood window respondents are familiar with the Andersen brand, 40 percent have used Andersen products in the past two years, and 26 percent choose Andersen the most among wood & clad-wood window brands.

Similar results show the top-billing sentiment toward Andersen patio doors with 83 percent of respondents familiar with the Andersen brand, 42 percent using Andersen products in the last two years, and 22 percent choosing Andersen patio doors most often.

“Andersen has carefully tracked the results of the BUILDER Brand Use Study since 1998,” Abbate said. During that time, results show that:

  • For 15 years, builders have rated Andersen highest in quality among wood & clad-wood windows
  • For 15 years, builders say they have used Andersen more in the last two years than any other wood or clad-wood window brand
  • For 15 years, Andersen has been the brand builders have used the most, more than any other wood or clad-wood brand

The yearly BUILDER Brand Use Study includes a nationwide survey of builders on their preferences related to a wide variety of products and brands. Andersen has consistently faired well in the study since the inception of the program. Results of the 2013 Brand Use Study will be published in the April issue of BUILDER magazine and on the magazine’s website. Past year’s results can be viewed at www.builderonline.com.
