Le Huffington Post Québec Launches Social Marketing Campaign across Montreal

MONTREAL--()--Le Huffington Post Québec, the French language edition of The Huffington Post Canada, announced today the launch of a marketing and social media campaign titled “Je me souviens”. Created by Twist Image, the campaign leverages the engaging social platform of The Huffington Post to drive new conversations and debate on issues that have shaped Quebec and its rich history. The “Je me souviens” campaign takes key issues in Quebec’s past and recent history and asks Quebeckers to share their opinions by tweeting headlines to be posted on outdoor boards and digital screens located across the city of Montreal. The campaign will feature six key moments in Quebec’s history;

  • The trade of Patrick Roy in 1995 – #ÉchangeRoy
  • The Referendum of 1995 – #Référendum95
  • The passing of the French language law, Bill 101 – #Loi101
  • The recent student strikes – #Manifsétudiantes
  • The recent PQ election win – #Élection2012
  • The current construction corruption scandal – #Corruption

“Since our launch this past February, we have been a growing destination in Québec for conversations and debate on the issues of our time. We are thrilled now to take our unique blend of journalism and social engagement to a broader audience and ask current and future readers to participate in our coverage and see how it might have shaped past issues and will impact current ones,” says Patrick White, managing editor, Le Huffington Post Québec.

The campaign was live as of December 10th and will be live until December 30th. It features Astral digital outdoor boards in central Montreal on highway 15 (north of boulevard Henri-Bourassa West), in east Montreal (on highway 40 between Pie IX and Viau stations), in west Montreal (on highway 13 south of boulevard Gouin); and on NewAd digital screens in restaurants and bars across Montreal. Tweets from consumers will be updated on these screens regularly.

In addition, on December 17th, an interactive digital board, provided by Monster Media, an international, full-service media company specializing in digital-out-of-home (DOOH) advertising, will be live for two (2) weeks in Complexe Les Ailes, off of rue Sainte Catherine in central Montreal, where shoppers will be able to post their tweets immediately on the screen.
