ROSEVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gupta Technologies, a global provider of application development and database software, today announced the immediate availability of SQLBase 11.7. Building on its foundation as a high performance embedded database, SQLBase 11.7 delivers new enhancements that support ease of use, security, and the latest processor and operating system technologies for a native 64-bit experience.
“With the release of SQLBase 11.7, we continue our commitment to our customers to deliver database technology that makes their business applications run faster, more secure and easier to maintain,” said Frank Verardi, General Manager of Gupta Technologies. “SQLBase 11.7 takes an already high performance, zero administration embedded database to a new level with rapid configuration and low total cost of ownership for enterprises looking to create and deploy business applications ranging from the desktop to Web servers.”
SQLBase 11.7 offers new database drivers that are easier for application developers to use and configure. The drivers require only a few settings to connect to a database and can configure themselves if the connect parameters are missing. Also, database users can now be based on Windows/Active Directory accounts, saving developers and system administrators time.
Optional database encryption using 256-bit key length Advance Encryption Standard (AES) in SQLBase 11.7 protects information in the databases at one of the highest levels of security available in commercial database products. New drivers can encrypt data transfer between client and server using 256-bit key length SSL communication encryption making it difficult to snoop an organization’s database network traffic. Other security features include brute-force password guessing protection and protection from denial-of-service attacks.
SQLBase 11.7 allows application developers to deploy the database in 64-bit hardware and 64-bit Windows Operating System environments. SQLBase database files are compatible between 32-bit and 64-bit database servers and client applications can use either 32-bit or 64-bit database drivers to access SQLBase.
SQLBase 11.7 is now generally available. A 45-day product evaluation version can be downloaded by visiting www.guptatechnologies.com.
