Citi and American Airlines Announce Exclusive Concerts Featuring Alicia Keys and Maroon 5

Citi and American Celebrate 25 Years of Citi® / AAdvantage® Credit Cards with Intimate Concerts for Cardmembers in New York and Los Angeles

NEW YORK & FORT WORTH, Texas--()--Exclusively for Citi® / AAdvantage® cardmembers, Citi and American Airlines today announced the Citi® / AAdvantage® Card Love the Journey Concert Series. The events, which take place in New York and Los Angeles this October, will feature performances by Alicia Keys and Maroon 5 where they will share their music and stories of their journeys to stardom.

“We’re always looking for new ways to reward our customers’ loyalty, and these concerts are a unique way to recognize Citi / AAdvantage customers and celebrate our 25-year journey with American Airlines,” said Ralph Andretta, Head of Co-Brands and Loyalty at Citi Cards. “We look forward to hosting these great performances where our customers can listen to their favorite music and hear about the artists’ journeys.”

On Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, Grammy-Award winner Alicia Keys will bring her signature style and music to Avery Fisher Hall at New York’s Lincoln Center. In Los Angeles, chart-topping Maroon 5 will perform at The Orpheum Theatre on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012.

“I can’t think of a better way to share new music from Girl On Fire than by holding a special, intimate concert,” said Alicia Keys. “I really love performing in this kind of environment. It's a connection that is indescribable.”

“It's been an amazing journey sharing our music with fans over the years. We're excited to share some of our stories along the way with fans in this special concert for Citi / AAdvantage customers,” said Adam Levine of Maroon 5.

Tickets can only be purchased with a Citi® / AAdvantage® credit card, beginning on Sept. 18, 2012, through www.citi.com/concertseries. For this exclusive event, tickets are limited to two per Citi® / AAdvantage® cardmember and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Citi® / AAdvantage® Card Love the Journey Concert Series is produced by Live Nation.

Earlier this year, Citi and American Airlines announced the new Citi® Platinum Select® / AAdvantage® card – the only card to offer cardmembers the ability to earn 10 percent of their redeemed AAdvantage miles back, up to 10,000 AAdvantage miles per calendar year. The benefits, which are based directly on feedback from AAdvantage cardmembers, were designed to deliver the rewards and recognition they want – including 10 percent miles back on AAdvantage miles redeemed, first checked bag free, priority boarding and more. “For 25 years, Citi and American Airlines have been innovators in the loyalty space, turning everyday purchases into opportunities to earn AAdvantage miles,” said Suzanne Rubin, President – AAdvantage Loyalty Program. “The concert series is our way of thanking customers as we celebrate our accomplishments and look forward to more Citi / AAdvantage program milestones in the years to come.”
