(Nasdaq: ZLTQ), a medical technology company focused on commercializing products utilizing its proprietary controlled-cooling technology platform, today announced that Sergio Garcia has been named Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary.
With more than two decades of legal and compliance experience, Mr. Garcia brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to ZELTIQ. Prior to joining ZELTIQ, Mr. Garcia was a partner at Reed Smith LLP and Fenwick & West LLP where he advised clients on corporate, transactional, and regulatory compliance matters including corporate governance, strategic transactions, mergers and acquisitions, public disclosure issues, and SEC reporting and compliance. He also served as outside general counsel to early-stage companies on intellectual property matters, strategic alliances, licensing and collaboration agreements, partnership agreements, financing, and litigation.
Prior to that, Mr. Garcia played a key role as Vice President, Legal and General Counsel at PDL BioPharma Inc., where he acted as legal advisor to the executive management team and board of directors on a wide range of strategic and operational issues.
