PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Punchcard, an Idealab company, will be partnering with the Southern California Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Council (SCFRC) for this weekend’s LA Marathon Expo, giving participating brands more information about people who are interested in learning more about their products. Attendees can download the Punchcard app, snap a picture of their favorite frozen food receipt (on the displays provided) to be entered to win a year of streaming movies, as well as discounts on products from participating brands including Stouffers, Krusteez and Comida del Sol, among others. The LA Marathon Expo booth is the latest activity in SCFRC’s March Frozen Food Month’s promotion – Simple Home Meals.
“We are excited to partner with the Southern California Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Council to provide attendees of the LA Marathon Expo a fun way to use our app,” said Punchcard CEO Andy Steuer. “This is an innovative promotion from the SCFRC and the participating brands using mobile technology. Since our recent launch, we’ve heard from merchants, agencies and many brands that we have a service which is addressing a need they have – a direct connection with their customers – by combining the best elements of social marketing with frequent customer rewards.”
Following the LA Marathon Expo, attendees can continue to use the app to access rewards from the 147,000 businesses in Southern California that they frequent the most. The process for achieving rewards is simple: Download the Punchcard app, called “Punchcard – Official” in the App Store and Android Market, and after visiting a business, simply take a photo of the receipt at the point of purchase, after which Punchcard will verify your purchase so you can earn “punches” at the places you love to shop the most.
For local merchants, 15% of their customer base typically generates 60% or more of their profits. Loyal customers are the lifeblood to a local business, and Punchcard provides a way for those businesses to increase the revenue generated from these customers while shortening the consumer re-purchase cycle. The result is more revenue in a shorter period of time at lower costs. It’s a win-win for both the consumer and merchant.
The LA Marathon Expo will be held at Dodger Stadium and will be open on Friday, March 16 from 10 am – 7 pm and Saturday, March 17 from 9 am – 6 pm.
Established in 1952, SCFRC is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sales and consumption of frozen & refrigerated foods. Its purpose is to exchange, discuss and develop ideas to further improve and stimulate the merchandising and promotion of frozen & refrigerated foods in the 10 Southern California counties and Clark County, Nevada. www.SimpleHomeMeals.com
