SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Realization, a premium provider of Real Time Synchronization solutions for project execution, today announced that seven of the eight largest U.S. Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps air depots are now using Realization’s Real-Time Synchronization methodology and supporting software to increase the number of aircraft serviced and parts produced in a shorter amount of time without additional resources. In an era of substantial military budget cuts and planned troop reductions, this capability will be crucial to maintaining fleet availability for the U.S. Armed Forces.
On average, these depots improved throughput by 25 percent within three to six months of adopting Realization’s management methodology, and some have seen throughput improve by as much as 60 percent. As a result, the U.S. Armed Forces active-duty fleet has saved billions in aircraft replacement costs.
Realization is able to help military and aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organizations make these significant throughput gains because it replaces the 100-year old Gantt methodology for managing projects with Real Time Synchronization, a method that eliminates multitasking and ensures teams are always working on the most important priorities.
One military aviation depot, for example, was facing serious challenges in completing aircraft overhauls. Due to a substantial increase in demand for the aircraft it maintained and repaired, the base had more planes parked in MRO hangars than it could handle, and crews were constantly fire-fighting problems as they arose. Most importantly, turnaround times were growing longer, the organization was missing deadlines and the unit was over budget.
Within just weeks of its implementation with Realization, the depot began delivering an extra aircraft each month. For the fiscal year, it delivered 33 percent more aircraft than it did the previous year, cut over 100,000 service hours, came in 17,000 hours under budget and reduced the number of customer-reported quality defects by 68 percent.
Realization continues to expand its already broad footprint in U.S. Armed Services’ MRO operations, and also works with more than 200 large organizations in a variety of fields, including: commercial aviation MRO, military and commercial aerospace engineering, energy, engineering-to-order (ETO), and IT and manufacturing to help them complete projects 20 to 50 percent faster.
Realization helps organizations do projects 20 to 50 percent faster by replacing “fixed schedules,” which cannot be followed when ground conditions keep changing, with Real-Time Synchronization, a complete solution of software and services. Realization's more than 200 clients include organizations like ABB, Amdocs, BHP Billiton, Dr. Reddy's, L&T, Medtronic, NASA and the U.S. Air Force. Collectively Realization's clients have realized $3.5 billion in additional cash and profits by doing projects faster. Realization is headquartered in San Jose, California, with partners in India, France, Spain, Brazil, Japan, and South Africa. For more information, visit www.realization.com.
