SAS® Curriculum Pathways® Registers Record Sign-Ups, Three Awards

Education technology publications honor resources used by 70,000 teachers, 18,000 schools

CARY, N.C.--()--SAS® Curriculum Pathways® has registered a record 70,000 teachers and 18,000 schools in the US for its enhanced online education resources. SAS Curriculum Pathways was also recently honored by the eSchool Media Readers’ Choice Awards, District Administration Readers’ Choice Top 100 Products and the Technology & Learning Awards of Excellence.

“High school graduates today must be tech-savvy problem solvers prepared to navigate, read and comprehend digital content,” said SAS CEO Jim Goodnight. “SAS Curriculum Pathways is a powerful resource for teachers to deploy in a blended learning environment of technology and traditional instruction.”

More than 20,000 teachers and 8,000 schools registered in 2011 alone, and growth continues. The Oklahoma State Department of Education recently announced a collaboration with SAS Curriculum Pathways to distribute the resources to more than 42,500 teachers and 645,000 students.

“We are increasing the use of digital learning resources throughout the state to give Oklahoma students a competitive edge in the 21st-century job market,” said Oklahoma Superintendent of Public Instruction Janet Barresi. “SAS Curriculum Pathways aligns with that goal by engaging today’s students with resources that help them develop valuable skills such as problem solving, collaboration and analytical thinking.”

Available at no cost to US educators, SAS Curriculum Pathways provides interactive, standards-based, Web-based resources in English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies and Spanish for grades six to 12 in traditional, virtual and home schools. By doing, seeing and listening, students access information and gain insights unavailable through conventional methods. Quality content can be adapted to varied needs.

The 2011 release of SAS Curriculum Pathways was its most significant update yet. The new version aligns resources to all state standards; English language arts and math modules also map to Common Core State Standards. The colorful redesign, searchable resources, integrated professional development, social media sharing and best practices for teachers make it easier to use and more rewarding for educators and students. Numerous new resources have been added to the offering. Now there are more than 200 Interactive Tools, 200 “read, research and respond” inquiries, 600 Web Lessons and 70 Audio Tutorials.
