ATI Allied Health Strives to Set New Industry Standards, Launches Comprehensive Preparation Materials for Multiple Certification Exams

Leading online educator delivers enhanced and expanded materials for EKG and phlebotomy technician, and medical administrative assistant certification exams

STILWELL, Kan.--()--ATI Allied Health, part of Ascend Learning – a leading provider of technology-based educational solutions for healthcare and other vocational industries – today announces the availability of updated versions of its Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT), Certified EKG Technician (CET) and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam preparation materials.

These three new offerings support newly revised corresponding certification exams being introduced by Ascend’s certification arm, the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). The CET and CPT exams will release March 1, and the CMAA exam will launch June 1.

The new certification prep packages and exams are part of ATI Allied Health and NHA’s commitment to deliver certification materials and exams that reflect the increased job responsibilities of today’s allied health professionals. To that end, the content for the certification prep materials and exams was drawn from exhaustive job analyses, surveys and task assessments conducted with professionals and educators in the medical administrative assistant, EKG technician and phlebotomy technician fields.

“As the industry leader, our goal is to offer a portfolio of allied health certification prep and exam materials that provide the industry’s top solutions and benefit educators, students and employers,” said Gary Pederson, executive vice president and general manager of ATI Allied Health. “We continuously evaluate, update and expand our certification prep offerings through a rigorous process. This ensures the education that allied health professionals receive aligns with industry standards and prepares candidates for their certification exams.”

Like all ATI Allied Health offerings, the materials were written by experts within the fields, and use the most advanced and innovative learning techniques to engage students through animation, video and other interactive tools proven to assist their learning and knowledge retention. Specifically, the new materials offer comprehensive and in-depth online and print content, remediation capabilities for optimal learning, and tools such as practice assessments, study tutorials, focused review, drills and more. The use of interactive and creative media accommodates different learning styles, increasing the chances of student success in comprehending and retaining job essentials, and ultimately leading to better patient safety.

The new certification prep materials provide robust reporting features allowing educators and employers to track progress and follow up with remediation/review plans when needed, ensuring a heightened level of accountability and ability to provide assistance when needed.

The new ATI Allied Health and NHA CET, CPT and CMAA certification prep materials and exams follow on the heels of the companies’ new Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) and Billing & Coding Specialist (CBCS) certification exams and corresponding prep materials, which were revised in 2011. Within the coming months, the company will also introduce new and improved certification exams and supporting prep materials for Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist (CEHRS™).
