Call For Submissions for Expect Miracles Foundation’s Miracle Maker Leadership Council 2012 Funding Award

Inaugural Funding Award by Financial Leaders Will Direct Funds to Cancer-Fighting Causes

BOSTON and NEW YORK--()--Expect Miracles Foundation - Financial Services Against Cancer is calling for submissions for its Miracle Maker Leadership Council (MMLC) 2012 Funding Award. The application deadline is March 5, 2012, with notification of decisions by April 1. The funding award will be presented at an evening reception in May at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Boston.

Expect Miracles Foundation, formerly Mutual Funds Against Cancer, is one of the leading advocates in the financial services industry in the fight against cancer, receiving support and sponsorship from top financial services firms and industry luminaries. Proceeds benefit cancer patient care initiatives and cutting-edge cancer research at the Belfer Institute for Applied Cancer Science at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

The MMLC augments and strengthens the Foundation’s mission to rally the financial services industry and utilize its influence and resources to help eradicate cancer. While the Foundation traditionally attracts corporations, the MMLC empowers individuals through the granting of an annual funding award to eligible organizations in the United States selected by MMLC members.

“We are elated to launch the first Miracle Maker Leadership Council funding award cycle,” said Frank Strauss, Founder and Chairman, Expect Miracles Foundation. “The MMLC funds cancer-fighting causes and patient care programs where such support is not always readily available, and so provides a wonderful opportunity for perhaps lesser-known organizations to receive additional support. We strongly encourage eligible organizations across the country to apply.”

The electronic MMLC funding award application is available at the Expect Miracles Foundation website (www.expectmiraclesfoundation.org) or via this link.

Although there are no specific guidelines on the size, annual budget, or annual fundraising of a recipient organization, the MMLC program is not designed to assist in funding large institutional/national/society entities. In selecting the award recipient, MMLC members will give priority to:

  • Location: Initiatives demonstrating sustainable benefits to the communities where Expect Miracles Foundation events are held and where Foundation supporters and MMLC members live
  • Impact: Ability to materially impact an organization or a specific program of a qualified organization
  • Strategic Relevance: Initiatives complementing the Foundation’s mission

Funding award recipients must have 501(c)(3) status as defined by the IRS.

For additional information on the MMLC funding award and application process, please contact Alana Chin, Development & Events Manager, at achin@expectmiraclesfoundation.org or 617.827.7463.

Individuals can join the MMLC by committing to three consecutive years of annual donations with those pledging at least $5,000 annually choosing the funding award recipients with input from all members of the MMLC.
