MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Starting today, Totino’s is offering schools another chance to win 250,000 Bonus Box Tops to fund fun learning at their schools, through the winter edition of its “Learn a Ton When School is Fun” sweepstakes. Totino’s launched the sweepstakes a few months ago for a fall edition and is excited to celebrate the two winners of that portion, Totino’s Fun-Atics Michelle Richard and Sue Estell, who will use their winning funds to bring fun projects to life at their schools.
There were more than half a million entries for the fall sweepstakes, but Michelle Richard from Catahoula Elementary School in St Martinville, La., and Sue Estell from Bandelier Elementary School in Albuquerque, N.M., are the lucky winners taking home $25,000 to their schools, in the form of 250,000 Bonus Box Tops.
Michelle, a Box Tops Coordinator for three years and a librarian at Catahoula Elementary School in St Martinville, La. has always encouraged her students to participate in the Box Tops program and was excited to find out her school was a winner of the Totino’s “Learn a Ton When School is Fun” sweepstakes. “Reading is the most fun way to learn. The students get to choose what they want to read and they get to escape into another world for a bit. One of the greatest parts about my job is seeing students get excited over reading because it is essential to learning and development,” she says. Catahoula Elementary plans to use its funds to purchase new computers, books and furniture for the school library.
Sue came to Bandelier Elementary as a parent volunteer 16 years ago while her children attended the school. She fell so in love with Bandelier Elementary that she became the technology coordinator, devoting countless hours of her time to work with the students. “I started as a volunteer at Bandelier and when I saw all the opportunities the kids had with technology and the fun they could have learning, I knew I had to be a part of it and make a difference in these kids’ lives. When they’re having fun while learning, it really sticks with them and makes an impact.” Sue has been part of the Box Tops team at Bandelier Elementary School since they joined the program almost 10 years ago and says the school plans to use the winnings to fund fun technology and parent communication projects.
