Capella University, an Accredited Online University, Awards One Full-Tuition Scholarship and Five $10,000 Scholarships

The online degree provider awarded scholarships to six new doctoral students from higher education alliance partnerships

MINNEAPOLIS--()--Capella University, an accredited online university* that has built its reputation by providing high quality online degree programs for working adults, has awarded a full-tuition scholarship and five $10,000 scholarships to faculty, staff or alumni of Capella’s higher education alliance partners. All applicants who met the eligibility requirements, but were not awarded a scholarship, were offered a $1,600 tuition grant.

The six scholarship recipients were chosen based on their answers to three essay questions about their purpose, goals and aspirations in pursuing their field of study, and how Capella will help activate that purpose to make a positive difference in their life and the lives of others.

“I am a non-traditional student and winning this scholarship has opened up a doorway for me,” said Michelle Pacansky-Brock, the full-tuition scholarship recipient and faculty at Mt. San Jacinto College, who is pursuing her PhD in Education at Capella. “I want to make a difference in higher education to best meet the needs of the 21st century student. There is a vast paradigm shift that needs to take place, and my program at Capella aligns with that transformation and challenging the status quo.”

Like Pacansky-Brock, the $10,000 scholarship recipients were all affiliated with one of Capella’s higher education alliance partners. The scholarship recipients, listed with their Capella degree program and state are:

  • Michael Hailu of Ohio – PhD in Education.
  • Rhonda Hutton of Missouri – Doctor of Nursing Practice.
  • Danielle Budzick of Ohio – Doctor of Education.
