DORTMUND, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ReVolt Technology GmbH, a technology company which has developed a rechargeable Zinc-Air battery, today announced that it had recently received final certification for a €4.8 million grant from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the EU and its partner University of Gelsenkirchen has received a €0.8 million grant. This grant certification combined with previous funding received from local authorities brings the total of funding secured to €6.5 million.
ReVolt together with FH Gelsenkirchen was previously a winner of the Electro Mobility (ElektroMobil.NRW) grant competition of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. The competition runs as part of a wider European program intended to promote innovation in a number of strategic industries while creating jobs and encouraging economic growth. ReVolt has received the funding for continued development of its rechargeable Zinc-Air technology for use in a range of electric mobility energy storage applications. The development project will run for a period of three years at ReVolt’s development centre in Dortmund, Germany.
