NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sociocast, provider of Big Data analysis and human behavior prediction tools for publishers and advertisers, announced the addition of three digital media veterans to the company’s leadership today.
Scott Hoffman, formerly of Yahoo!, Lotame, and [x+1], joins the company as chief operating officer, bringing decades of industry and operational expertise. Joe Doran – founder of LiveTout and former Media6o founding CEO – and Jeffrey Silverman – former executive with DoubleClick, partner at Laconia Ventures and board member of the New York Angels – have joined the advisory board.
Sociocast enables customers to normalize big data sets and deliver predictive, real-time audience insights to make effective marketing decisions. Launched in 2010, Sociocast uses proprietary social intelligence to find patterns of connectivity between people, places, and things in massive data sets.
“Sociocast founder Albert Azout is one of the few people in the world who has the vision and technical skills to make Big Data work for digital media companies in publishing and advertising,” said Hoffman. “Bringing this vision to market is a once in a lifetime opportunity easily recognized by those who have spent careers running into the walls Sociocast simply destroys.”
Hoffman’s previous industry experience includes a founding role in Lotame and was one of the first team members for Yahoo!
Joe Doran and Jeffrey Silverman join an advisory board that already includes Northeastern University physicist Albert-Lazslo Barabasi, MediaMath CEO Joe Zawadzki, RapLeaf CEO Auren Hoffman, Duke University behavioral economist Dan Ariely, National Academy of Media Arts & Sciences founding member Tim Hanlon, and Wunderman COO David Sable.
Doran brings 15 years of experience managing interactive media, advertising and social media solutions in high growth companies such as Microsoft, General Mills and Media6o. He is currently the founder and principal of LiveTout and actively advises leading companies in the advertising and interactive media space, such as BrightTag, Inc and Legolas Media Inc.
Jeffrey Silverman brings 25 years of media and technology experience with companies such as DoubleClick and Integrated Color Solutions. He is on the board of the New York Angels, advising C3 Metrics along with other early stage start-up companies.
“Big Data is upsetting the balance of power in a number of industries to favor those who understand the business value of massive unstructured data analysis,” said Doran. “In advertising, we have understood the value of information for years while struggling to make data fulfill its promise. I can say now that time has come. Sociocast is leading a charge, and this team is prepared to meet the long held expectations for predictive data.”
“These known and trusted names have added their talent and credibility to our cause, and with their experience, we have significantly shortened our path to market success,” said Sociocast CEO Albert Azout. “Scott, Joe and Jeffrey have had an immediate impact on our operation, and we move forward with complete confidence in their ability to mold and guide us.”
