MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ooyala, a leader in online video technology and services, announced today that Caitlin Spaan has joined Ooyala as vice president of marketing. Spaan is charged with driving Ooyala’s global marketing and communication programs. She brings more than 17 years of experience in marketing, sales and business development to the Ooyala executive team. Spaan will be based out of the company’s Mountain View, CA office.

Before joining Ooyala, Spaan was head of marketing and customer experience at Walmart’s streaming movie service, VUDU. Spaan managed all aspects of VUDU's marketing, driving triple digit increases in users and brand awareness as well as strong marketing partnerships with studio and CE partners. Prior to VUDU, Spaan spent 14 years with Palm, Inc., where her roles included vice president of Product Marketing, vice president of International Marketing and vice president of Carrier and Channel Marketing. She directed the successful launch of over 50 Palm mobile devices, from the original PalmPilot to the iconic Palm V, Treo and Palm Pre, as the company grew from $20M to $1.2B in sales. Prior to joining Palm, she held marketing roles at Intuit and roles in sales at M&M/Mars.
