PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SmartEnergy IPTM, a research division of SmartMark Communications, LLC dedicated to customer education in the utilities industry, announced the publishing of their Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Customer Education Benchmarking Report. SmartEnergy IP launched the Smart Grid Customer Education study to better understand the specific tactics utilities are using to educate their customers as part of their AMI campaigns. To develop this comprehensive report, 100 utilities in the United States were asked to shed light on their best practices and approach to customer education around AMI programs.
From AMI messaging to how to best communicate with customers, this report benchmarks the responses from utilities at various stages of AMI integration and brings attention to various noteworthy findings. Best practices indicated through this survey show that utilities are starting the education process early and using an array of marketing channels to affect customers.
“We are very satisfied with the wealth of information resulting from this study and want to thank all the participating utilities for their valuable contributions,” said Juliet Shavit, President and CEO of SmartMark Communications and Founder of the SmartEnergy IP practice. “There is a necessity in the industry to develop best practices standards for smart grid customer education, and we hope the results of the AMI Customer Education Benchmarking Report prove to be beneficial for utilities in developing AMI communication campaigns.”
The results of this nationwide survey of utilities’ customer education practices were presented at the Smart Grid Customer Education Symposium on October 11, 2011 in Washington, D.C. The full report is available for purchase; please contact email@example.com for more information.
