New health and fitness content will be featured at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Association’s (CEA)® Industry Forum, which connects and educates consumer technology professionals, analysts and media on industry trends, emerging technologies, technical standards and legislation affecting the CE industry.


The 2011 CEA Industry Forum is scheduled October 23-26 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, California.

Health and Fitness Tech Track highlights at the Industry Forum include:

-- Health and Fitness Technology Working Group Meeting: All Industry Forum attendees may participate in this working group meeting, taking place on Monday morning, October 24, from 10 a.m.-noon.


-- Lunch and Keynote with Qualcomm’s Don Jones: Qualcomm’s Vice President of Wireless Health, Global Strategy and Market Development, along with special guests Dr. David Albert, CEO of AliveCor, and Jonathan Javitt, CEO of Telcare, will talk about market opportunities and advancements in mobile health and fitness technology from noon-2 p.m. on October 24.


-- The State of the Health and Fitness Market - What Consumers Really Want: Hear the results of CEA's newest research study, The New Role of Technology in Consumer Health and Wellness, from 2-2:20 p.m. on Monday, October 24.


-- Fast Track on Health and Fitness Tech - The Experts' View: Hear from the people who are following these emerging categories on the financial, market and product opportunities from 2:20-3 p.m. on October 24.


-- Steps for CE Success in the Personal Health Market: CE companies and health care providers discuss what’s necessary to ensure a vibrant and profitable market for the personal health ecosystem from 3-4 p.m. on October 24.


-- Product Workout: Putting Fitness Tech to the Test: Cutting edge innovators will showcase their products, services and apps and give us the inside scoop on how to operate fitness tech at this must-attend session from 4-5 p.m. on October 24.


-- Integrating the Future: Smart Homes and the Rise of Digital Health: Taking place Tuesday, October 25, from 11 a.m.-noon, CE experts explore the importance of wired and wireless interoperability and proper API support. Participants will have the chance to participate in a Q&A session with the panelists as well as share their own case studies and experiences with the audience.


-- CEA Annual Member Meeting Lunch & Keynote with Aneesh Paul Chopra: United States’ Chief Technology Officer and top innovation evangelist will deliver a keynote address during the annual member meeting lunch and keynote from noon-2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25.
