WESTERLY, RI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Washington Trust Wealth Management recently hired two key senior executives for its Wellesley, MA-based Weston Financial division.
Jake W. Filoon III of Needham, Massachusetts has been named President and Chief Operating Officer and leads the firm and its client services teams. Among his responsibilities, Jake oversees all of Weston Financial’s business activities, including sales, client services and operations. Jake joins Washington Trust after spending more than 20 years with Bank of America where he held various Wealth Management and senior corporate roles. Throughout his career, Jake has focused heavily on portfolio and investment management, strategic planning, company mergers and acquisitions, and the execution of financial analysis.
Jake received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Pre-Medicine from Colby College, and a Masters of Business Administration from Babson College. He has served on the Board of Trustees for Babson College, the Finance Committee for the Town of Needham, and is currently Treasurer of the Hyannis Port Civic Association.
James P. Scanlan of North Kingstown, Rhode Island has been hired as Director and Planning Officer and is responsible for business development and financial planning for the firm. Jim joins Weston Financial with more than 25 years experience in the financial services industry and was a partner in an independent wealth management firm where he specialized in estate and business succession planning, and asset management for owners of closely held companies and high net worth individuals.
Jim is a graduate of Stonehill College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He holds CLU and ChFC designations as well as being a Certified Financial Planner Practitioner. He is a member of the Stonehill College Alumni Association; is a Trustee for the Providence Rotary Charitable Foundation, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Foundation Fighting Blindness of Massachusetts.
