PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Netronome, the leading developer of network flow processors, today announced that it has been named as one of the 2011 “Pittsburgh 100” companies by the Pittsburgh Business Times. The annual list ranks the region’s private companies by the percentage of growth in revenue over a three-year period. For the second year in a row, Netronome took home the top spot in the “Technology” category and third place overall among the “Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies.”
“We are very pleased with this year’s Pittsburgh 100 winners. The list shows that companies in Pittsburgh are continuing to grow and thrive in today’s economy," said Alan Robertson, publisher of the Pittsburgh Business Times. “We congratulate Netronome on its second year on our list and we look forward to watching the continued growth of the company.”
Netronome’s Network Flow Processors (NFP-3240) bring breakthrough performance to a broad range of demanding network, security and content processing products used in 40 – 100 Gbps networks. The NFP-3240 delivers 40 Gbps of packet processing with deep packet inspection, network and security processing, and I/O virtualization for millions of simultaneous flows. The NFP-3240 is the industry’s only processor specifically designed for tight coupling with Intel x86 processors, and it is fully compatible with the market-leading Intel IXP28XX line of processors.
“We are thrilled to again be recognized by the Pittsburgh Business Times as the fastest growing technology company in the region. We are lucky to have an incredibly talented and loyal team who are excited to contribute to Netronome’s innovative technology,” said Howard Bubb, chief executive officer of Netronome. “When the founders of Netronome decided to base the business here in 2003 they knew the strong technology foundation created by FORE Systems, Carnegie Mellon and several others would make it a great place to build a leading edge networking company and this vision has proven to be true.”
