CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Mather Group (www.themathergroup.com), retirement investment advisors led by Stewart Mather, CFP, CIMA, has left Morgan Stanley and opened an office in the Oakbrook Terrace Tower. Ninety-nine percent of the clients Mather served at Morgan Stanley moved with him to his new firm, which now operates independently with the same management team, utilizing Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services as its custodian.
“It was the right time to make this move,” says Mather, who was named one of the top two percent of Wealth Managers in the Chicagoland area in Chicago magazine in 2010. “Retirees are suspicious of Wall Street, and they found out in the past few years that they had every reason to be. People are looking for a different breed of retirement investment advisor who operates both independently and transparently on their behalf.
“We operate on a fee only basis - no commissions, no conflicts,” Mather adds. “We’re part of a growing trend – we see it as the future of retirement consulting.”
Mather had served as a Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager at Morgan Stanley. Earlier in his career, he served as Vice President of Investments at UBS.
The Mather Group focuses on guiding corporate executives and business owners who are preparing for retirement. Their services include investment management, tax planning, retirement planning, estate planning and insurance procurement.
The firm brings its proprietary, proven process to retirement planning that helps anticipate economic uncertainties in today’s economy while clarifying and simplifying retirement investment decisions.
As Managing Partner, Mather sets investment policy, directs portfolio management and oversees retirement planning strategies. Other team members bring more than a century of wealth management experience to the firm, providing financial guidance through many economic cycles.
