WAYNE, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Harvey Nash USA announced today that James P. Moore Jr. joins Lord Digby Jones on the Harvey Nash Group's Advisory Board as senior advisor and member of its international advisory board. Moore joined the board to provide strategic business advice and support to the global senior management team as it expands its executive search, IT recruitment and IT outsourcing businesses globally.
“We look forward to Jim Moore’s counsel, global perspective and thought leadership,” said Robert J. Miano, President and CEO of Harvey Nash USA. “Jim’s formidable reputation and deep experience both in the U.S. and abroad will serve Harvey Nash and its clients exceedingly well.”
Moore, a graduate of Rutgers with highest distinction and the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh, has had a distinguished career on Capitol Hill, in the Executive Branch of the U.S. Government and in the private sector. Confirmed unanimously by the U.S. Senate as Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Trade Development, Moore managed one of the most difficult areas in government in the U.S. Commerce Department, working with U.S. businesses at home and abroad. His work on the boards of the U.S. Export Import Bank and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation as well as the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States had him involved in critical financial projects.
“During his career, Jim negotiated a series of historic bilateral and multinational economic and trade agreements on behalf of the U.S. He managed hundreds of industry and country experts around the globe in support of U.S. companies, and as a result, he left an important mark on the international commercial landscape,” said Miano. “At a time when finding a competitive edge in the global economy is critical, Jim’s unique expertise and hands-on management will help give us an important voice in our strategic planning.”
After leaving government, Moore founded an investment banking firm and launched the Global Forum in Aspen, which brought together global leaders from business, government, and academia to discuss critical issues of the day. He sat on several prominent corporate and non-profit boards and has been a regular guest commentator on CNBC and Fox Business. For the past decade, he has taught international business and corporate ethics as well as management and leadership at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.
“I am delighted to be part of the Harvey Nash Group, which has shown such cutting-edge vision and incredible resilience globally despite the challenges of the recent recession. The company’s unique service offerings and determination to make a difference, position it well for the future. I look forward to the days ahead,” said Moore.
