Young America and 3Seventy to Develop New Mobile Marketing Capabilities to Enhance Engagement Marketing and Loyalty Programs

EDINA, Minn.--()--Young America, www.young-america.com, an engagement marketing, loyalty and incentive firm, and 3Seventy, www.3Seventy.com, a mobile engagement solutions company, have formed a strategic alliance to jointly develop new mobile marketing capabilities and enhance delivery of mobile-based engagement marketing and loyalty services to their client base.

“As mobile technologies have become more interactive and ubiquitous among consumers, they have become an essential element to any successful engagement marketing campaign,” said Tim Crank, senior vice president of marketing, Young America.

A 2010 study by the Pew Internet & American Life Project found that 40 percent of U.S. adults use the Internet, email or instant messaging on a mobile phone (up from the 32 percent in 2009) and that text message use increased among all cell phone users from 65 percent in 2009 to 72 percent last year. However, according to a recent news article, retailers report that mobile-based purchases account for only about two percent of sales.

“Our partnership with 3Seventy will enable us to instantly engage consumers whether it’s for sweepstakes, rebates, loyalty programs, delivery of coupons or product samples,” he said.

A recent product of this alliance is a mobile campaign the two firms created for Playtex® Sport® that uses two-dimensional (2-D) barcodes to connect consumers directly to a mobile website that allows them to sign up and receive a free product sample.

“By combining Young America’s leadership in the rebate and sweepstakes arena with our advanced mobile technology platform, we are changing the way promotions are delivered to the marketplace,” said Carrie Chitsey, founder and CEO, 3Seventy. “The Playtex campaign is a great example of how technology can enhance engagement marketing strategies.”

Crank noted that using mobile technologies helps clients reach a younger, more technologically savvy consumer base.

“The digital nature of mobile-based marketing enables our clients to benefit from enhanced measurement of ROI and more direct consumer interaction,” said Crank. “Meanwhile, consumers benefit from the inherent user-friendliness of the advanced technology.”
