BLOOMINGTON, Minn. & STILLWATER, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lakeview Health System and HealthPartners are pleased to announce they have approved a plan to formally affiliate. Under the agreement, Lakeview Health joins the HealthPartners family of care, further expanding health care capabilities in the St. Croix Valley region.
Lakeview Health and HealthPartners bring more than 200 years of combined service to the community. Together the organizations will be able to provide a wider range of local health care services while sharing information technology, joint planning and development resources, and best practices. These new capabilities, reinforced by the organizations’ commitment to the community, come at a time of rapid growth in the region. Lakeview Health is now an integral part of a larger health care system, and can offer patients and the surrounding area the benefit of easier access to HealthPartners’ regional provider network.
“The evolving needs of the people of the St. Croix Valley remains our focus in creating this affiliation,” said Jeff Robertson, CEO, Lakeview Health. “HealthPartners’ high-performing care system and patient-centered mission are well-aligned with ours. We see long-term benefits for our patients as well as our broader community.”
“Through this affiliation we will deliver improved health, lower costs and an exceptional experience for our patients and health plan members.” “Our goal is to deliver on this ‘Triple Aim’ for the community, and Lakeview Health is a leader in advancing this vision,” said Mary Brainerd, president and CEO, HealthPartners.
“The Stillwater Medical Group has a long history of providing a wide range of high-quality health care services right here in our community,” said Andy Dorwart, MD, President of Stillwater Medical Group. “And as our community grows, this affiliation will help keep local services broad, strong and accessible.”
Since the letter of intent was announced in December, both organizations have worked to finalize administrative and operational details. Lakeview Health and HealthPartners have already been working together to provide cardiology and oncology services. Additional opportunities around joint planning and sharing information technology and other resources will begin in the coming months.
Under the affiliation, Lakeview Health remains a separate entity with its own board, which will continue to include members of the community. Stillwater Medical Group and the Lakeview Foundation also continue to operate under the Lakeview Health system.
