ROCKVILLE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GlobalNet Services, Inc., a premier information technology provider for businesses and the Federal government, today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) awarded the company a $39 million contract to support the Regulatory Business Information Services (RBIS). Under this five-year contract, which includes one base year and four option years, GlobalNet Services will support all operations, maintenance, development and enhancement of the RBIS systems on behalf of the FDA.

RBIS provides data warehousing, reporting, analytics, and a listing of all firms regulated by the FDA Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA). ORA leverages the RBIS system to improve the quality of information made available to reporting and information management projects. Its staff accesses these integrated systems for in-depth analysis and critical decision-making that protects public health and safety. GlobalNet Services will be tasked with day-to-day maintenance of the RBIS project and will develop additional enhancements and capabilities that respond to the growing needs of the FDA.
