OKLAHOMA CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--National Football League superstar running back Adrian Peterson says he’s joining the Pros 4 Vets cause. “I could not put it better than to borrow from the Pros 4 Vets motto: I’m ready to fight for them because they fought for us,” says the Minnesota Vikings All Pro running back.
Peterson, the former University of Oklahoma All American, announced he’s teaming up with Pros 4 Vets Friday night at his annual All Day Foundation event. The mission of Pros 4 Vets is to raise awareness of the enormous needs faced by American service members, veterans and their families and to help them with those needs.
Peterson, who last year was a founder of the ‘Pros for Africa’ venture and is embarking March 14th for his second journey for that Oklahoma City-based international charity, says fighting for those who protect our freedoms is a calling we should all answer. “I am blessed to be able to play a game I love in a country that is free. Those freedoms are ensured by men and women who volunteer to protect us no matter what the cost. It is fitting and just that I do whatever I can to bring together the talents and skills of lawyers, doctors and other professionals to provide for them when no one else will. I am honored to add my name to those who are fighting for those who fight for us,” he says.
‘Pros 4 Vets’ was unveiled late in 2010, yet already boasts such NFL superstars as Tommie Harris of the Chicago Bears, Roy Williams of the Cincinnati Bengals and Mark Clayton of the St. Louis Rams.
