FAIRFAX, Va.--()--ManTech International Corporation (NASDAQ:MANT) (www.mantech.com), a leading provider of innovative technologies and solutions for mission-critical national security programs, announced today that the company was awarded a $57 million contract by Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) to provide engineering, technical and administrative support for naval aircraft and systems. The contract has a one-year period of performance plus four option years.

Under the contract, ManTech will provide engineering technical and administrative support for reliability, maintainability, testability and quality assurance, as well as diagnostics and systems safety analyses during the design, development, production and in-service cycles of naval aircraft and associated systems. ManTech engineers will support NAWCAD on carrier-based tactical aircraft, shipboard-capable vertical/short-takeoff and landing aircraft, maritime support aircraft, unmanned aircraft, tactical weapons systems, support systems, avionics and equipment, air-launched weapons, electronic warfare systems, cruise missiles, aircraft launch and recovery equipment and other equipment related to Navy and Marine Corps air power.

NAWCAD is one of two centers within the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). NAVAIR, working with industry, delivers high-quality, affordable products and support to the operating forces, providing total life-cycle support of all naval aviation weapon systems. This support includes research, design, development and engineering, acquisition, test and evaluation, training facilities and equipment, repair and modification, and in-service engineering and logistics support.

“In today’s world, pilots and systems operators require complex weapon systems specifically designed for the unique naval operating environment. Their success in that environment depends on the reliability of those systems to operate when needed to complete the mission,” said Terry M. Ryan, president and chief operating officer of ManTech’s Systems Engineering and Advanced Technology group. “We are honored to be a part of the team of engineers that supports the success of the Navy’s mission with vital naval aircraft and systems developed with fleet operators and maintainers in mind.”
