SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Underscoring its commitment to the integrity of its products and solutions for helping companies assess compliance, Infoblox Inc., the market leading developer of advanced network infrastructure control solutions, today announced that it has joined the PCI Security Standards Council as a new Participating Organization. As a Participating Organization, Infoblox will work with the Council to evolve the PCI Data Security Standard (DSS) and other payment card data protection standards.
The PCI DSS, endorsed by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa Inc., requires merchants and service providers that store, process or transmit customer payment card data to adhere to information security controls and processes that ensure data integrity. More information on the council and the standard can be found at www.pcisecuritystandards.org.
As a Participating Organization, Infoblox will now have access to the latest payment card security standards from the Council, be able to update its PCI compliance and reporting products based on the latest guidelines, provide feedback on the standards and become part of a growing community that now includes more than 500 organizations. In an era of increasingly sophisticated attacks on systems, adhering to the PCI DSS represents an entity’s best protection against data criminals. By joining as a Participating Organization, Infoblox is adding its voice to the process and delivering advanced PCI management and reporting products.
“The PCI Security Standards Council is committed to helping everyone involved in the payment chain protect consumer payment data,” said Bob Russo, General Manager of the PCI Security Standards Council. “By participating in the standards setting process, Infoblox demonstrates they are playing an active part in this important end goal.”
Yama Habibzai, Senior Director of Product Marketing at Infoblox, commented: “This is another step, among many, demonstrating Infoblox’s commitment to deliver products and solutions that seamlessly integrate into enterprise environments, reduce complexity and help ensure business continuity and compliance. Infoblox counts more than 200 of the Global 500 as its customers and they are keenly aware of the importance of PCI compliance. Infoblox solutions, like Infoblox NetMRI, can be instrumental to helping them meet PCI compliance and other requirements.”
Infoblox delivers Network Configuration and Change Management (NCCM) solutions that automate tedious network management tasks and helps achieve compliance requirements such as those for PCI DSS. Infoblox has completed detailed research on the standards, and has developed specific rules and policies that impact network devices such as routers, switches and firewalls. Leveraging these embedded rules and policies, the newest version of Infoblox NetMRI 6.0, available this month, meets requirements for PCI DSS 2.0 impacting network infrastructure devices and automates the process of achieving PCI network compliance. It identifies any violations, provides the ability to remediate issues within the same tool and generates a report with a single click to verify compliance for auditors.
“Without automation and the correct tools, PCI DSS can be a major headache for network teams,” added Yama Habibzai. “Infoblox helps our customers not only stay compliant 24/7, but also proves it to auditors who can show up at any given time. Instead of going device to device, collecting and compiling information manually, Infoblox NetMRI automates the tedious, repetitive process and helps ensure guidelines are met 24/7.”
