CHASKA, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--LIFECORE BIOMEDICAL, LLC announced today that Kipling Thacker, Ph.D. has been appointed the Company's first Chief Scientific Officer and Vice President and Richard A. Curtis has joined the Company as Vice President of New Business Development.

Dr. Thacker has been with the Company for almost 30 years. Kip has served the Company in the areas of support and service for hyaluronan technical inquiries, scientific research, technical development and new business development. He is a co-inventor of Lifecore's hyaluronan fermentation process. He holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Minnesota.
Mr. Curtis has worked in the medical industry for more than 15 years, contributing creative and effective growth for ATS Medical, Cardinal Health, Hillenbrand Industries, and St. Jude Medical. His comprehensive new business experience provides our Company with an enhanced skill set ideally suited to contribute to our strategic growth process. Rick obtained his Bachelors degree in Physics from Hamline University and his Masters in Business Administration from University of St. Thomas.
