Device Reputation Leader iovation Ranks No. 1662 on the 2010 List of America’s Fastest Growing Private Companies

PORTLAND, Ore.--()--iovation, the device reputation authority protecting online businesses from fraud and abuse, today announced its inclusion in the Inc. 5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest growing private companies. Inc. Magazine ranked iovation number 1662 on its annual list, number 38 within private security companies, and number 14 within the Portland, OR metro area.

The Inc. 5000 list represents the most important segment of the economy—America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs. Music website Pandora, convenience store chain 7-Eleven, local internet marketing and advertising provider Yodle, and oDesk, the marketplace for online work teams, are among the prominent brands featured on the 2010 list.

“The leaders of the companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 have figured out how to grow their businesses during the longest recession since the Great Depression,” said Inc. president Bob LaPointe. “The 2010 Inc. 5000 showcases a particularly hardy group of entrepreneurs.”

iovation was founded in June 2004 to make the Internet a safer place for individuals to conduct business and interact with one another. In 2007, iovation attracted the attention of strategic investors Intel and SAP after accomplishing profitability from 2004 to 2006. At the end of 2009, iovation announced impressive results in revenue growth, new customer acquisition and exponential expansion of its globally shared device reputation database.

“We are honored to be named on the Inc. 5000 list and recognized for our strong revenue performance. Our success reflects growing adoption of device reputation as a best practice in online fraud protection,” says Greg Pierson, CEO of iovation. “Last year’s strong growth was largely due to our expanded presence in online retail and financial services. We are experiencing similar success across all verticals in 2010.”
