Purchase Stimulates Efforts to Enhance and Expand Marketing Outlets

LOS ANGELES--()--The Workbook (www.workbook.com), announced today that it has been acquired by private equity investor William Daniels III. Alexis Scott, founder of the Workbook, will continue her role as Publisher and Chief Executive Officer as the company builds on her 32 years of thoughtful guidance and forges new partnerships and strategies.

“We were introduced by our mutual accountant,” said Ms. Scott. “The history of Workbook and its mission to serve creative talent intrigued Mr. Daniels and he fell in love with the business. The Workbook was established in 1977 as a local sourcebook for Los Angeles creative talent. It quickly grew to include California, then the entire US and Canada, to become the premier creative resource for the commercial arts industry that it is today. By successfully bringing together top advertising talent and industry creatives, Workbook has earned its reputation as a trusted and valuable marketing tool for creative talent. About William Daniels III - Bill brings to Workbook a strong background in finance and private equity investing and a passion for art and photography. Bill is the founder and managing partner of Live Oak Advisors, an investment management firm. He has been a part of the private client teams at a number of leading investment banks and was the managing partner of an early stage venture investment group. A graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Business School, Bill has taught finance at the college and graduate level. Bill served on the board of numerous private companies and many times has filled the role of Chief Financial Officer. Bill currently serves on the board of VitalWear, a designer and manufacturer of pain management medical devices. Bill is an avid runner, swimmer and instrument-rated commercial pilot, and frequently, a coach for youth sports.
