LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pepperdine University’s Dr. Ron D. Ford, of Malibu and Associate Dean of Executive Programs at the Graziadio School of Business and Management, has been appointed to the Entertainment and Tourism Advisory Committee of the California Commission for Economic Development (http://ced.ca.gov/). The advisory committee is a select group of entertainment and tourism industry leaders, representing entertainment studios, tourism boards, professional organizations and hospitality providers, among others. The appointees are charged with identifying key strategies and providing recommendations to the Governor, Lt. Governor and Legislature that will grow California’s competitive advantage within the state’s two most vital economic markets.

Dr. Ford served as chief executive officer of St. Clair Entertainment, a leading independent provider of video and audio entertainment, based in Los Angeles. He has produced hundreds of albums selling millions of copies and is a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. He has also sold millions of movie DVDs and is a member of the National Association of Recording Merchandisers. Prior, Ford served as CEO and President of Media Arts Group, Inc. Dr. Ford leads the PRESIDENTIAL and Key Executive MBA (http://bschool.pepperdine.edu/programs/executive/programspke/) degree program and Executive MBA (http://bschool.pepperdine.edu/programs/executive/programsemba/) degree programs at Pepperdine University and teaches finance and strategy.
Ford holds a Doctorate in Executive Management from Case Western Reserve University. He earned an MBA from Vanderbilt University and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee.
Ford’s civic and community involvement has included: the Board of Trustees of Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt Medical Center, advisory boards for the College of Business at Cumberland University and St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Leadership Atlanta, president of the American Cancer Society in Atlanta, Young Presidents’ Organization, Atlanta Rotary Club and Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Schools’ Board of Trustees.
