DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Spencer Crain Cubbage Healy & McNamara pllc (Spencer Crain) welcomes Kyle B. Beaty and Deborah L. Sterling to the law firm as shareholders. Beaty has extensive experience in real estate and commercial finance, while Sterling represents corporate, governmental and individual clients in a wide range of complex commercial and civil litigation.
Founded in Dallas in May 2008, Spencer Crain has four women among its five name partners and a national client list that includes Eli Lilly & Company, Greyhound Lines, Inc., J.C. Penney Company Inc., and Temple-Inland, Inc., among others.
“Kyle Beaty and Deborah Sterling epitomize the professional background and practice skills on which we’ve built our firm,” says founding shareholder Jennifer Spencer. “That both of them come from top-tier firms – Kyle most recently from Bryan Cave, and Deborah from Fulbright & Jaworski – is the kind of experience all of our shareholders have. It means we have the capability to get things done for any type of business client, from Fortune 100 corporations to mid-size and emerging public and privately held companies.”
The addition of Beaty and Sterling increases to 13 the number of Spencer Crain’s attorneys, marking significant growth in the firm’s first year. A number of these lawyers are seasoned authorities in their fields, as the firm provides nationwide counsel and representation in litigation, labor and employment law, mediation and business immigration and now real estate and commercial finance. “We believe prospects for Spencer Crain’s future are bright, centering on our ability to attract lawyers like Kyle and Deborah who have a proven track record of success handling large scale and high profile matters,” Spencer adds. “Our capability to support long-term relationships with leading corporate clients gives us confidence in our continued growth as the firm moves toward celebrating its first anniversary in 2009.”
About Kyle Beaty
Kyle Beaty has extensive experience in securitizations, master servicing, special servicing and loan origination. He has represented commercial mortgage loan originators and servicers in connection with the negotiation and closing of pooling and servicing agreements, loan portfolio acquisitions and sales, REMIC modifications and assumptions, workouts and other sophisticated transactions. In addition, he has developed and administered commercial mortgage loan closing programs for several national commercial mortgage lenders.
“Kyle brings to our firm a substantial capability in real estate finance that positions us to help clients resolve problems and pursue opportunities in today’s challenging real estate marketplace,” says shareholder Jennifer Spencer. “When added to our dispute resolution strengths on behalf of financial institution and corporate clients, his transactional knowledge will enable us to handle everything from restructuring existing loans and projects to financing new development.”
“Spencer Crain offers the kind of business-focused, entrepreneurial environment that fits well with my client base and practice capabilities,” Beaty states. “Because I have a background on the corporate side of real estate finance, I appreciate how my colleagues deliver what every client wants: efficient results, direct access to senior level attorneys, and a strategic focus on business goals. I’m excited about bringing to the Spencer Crain team my own commitment to those values.”
Beaty’s experience before joining Spencer Crain includes practice at several major Dallas law firms and senior management and in-house counsel positions with a major commercial mortgage servicer. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia in 1987, and is admitted to practice in Texas.
About Deborah Sterling
With trial experience in both state and federal courts, Deborah Sterling has extensive capabilities in commercial and products liability litigation, as well as in the defense of catastrophic injury and death cases involving medical malpractice, work place injuries, trucking accidents, and similar issues. “My approach to litigation is a perfect fit with Spencer Crain’s philosophy as a firm,” Sterling says. “I believe clients value comprehensive case management, accurate cost and liability analysis, and a no-nonsense ‘get it done’ approach.
