NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kaplan, Inc. announced today that it has acquired West of England Language Services Limited (WELS), an international group of English language schools located in the U.S., Australia, and the U.K. Founded in 1990, WELS is an affiliate of London-based International House, one of the largest English language and teacher training networks in the world.
WELS offers general English language training for adults, as well as courses focused on specific language needs, such as business English, academic English and preparation for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and University of Cambridge exams. For younger students, WELS offers summer residential courses operated on the campuses of American and British universities and boarding schools.
WELS has year-round schools located in Bath, Salisbury and Torquay (U.K.), San Diego (U.S.) and Sydney (Australia).
WELS will become part of Kaplan Aspect, Kaplan’s English language training division, which currently has 40 dedicated English language schools worldwide, as well as a selection of courses at most of Kaplan’s 162 permanent test prep centers located throughout the U.S.
WELS joins Kaplan’s expanding portfolio of English language schools, which are located throughout the U.S., U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
