GREENWICH, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Interactive Brokers announced today the availability of direct market access to Australian Contracts for Difference (CFDs) on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) for its customers. The launch means that IB customers can now trade CFDs alongside currencies, stocks, futures and options from within a single universal account. Contracts for difference have become a popular addition to share trading for many investors attracted to their low transaction cost and favorable tax treatment. Interactive Brokers launched direct market access to Australian stocks in 2007 and sees today’s initiative as a logical addition for customers wanting to invest in exchange-traded products in the Australian market.
Customers wanting to trade Australian CFDs will pay 0.05% of trade value with an AUD 6 trade minimum (not available to US resident customers). Customers will now be able to trade CFDs on 48 listed companies on the Australian Stock Exchange as well as 6 Australian benchmark index products.
