BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Circle Twelve Inc announced today that it has entered into a license agreement with Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs, giving Circle Twelve rights to tabletop computing intellectual property, including exclusive world-wide rights to manufacture and sell the multi-touch, multi-user DiamondTouch table. While the license agreement has been in effect since the beginning of this year when it took over all sales and operations for the DiamondTouch product line, Circle Twelve made the formal announcement one week before the start of the InfoComm 08 Exposition in Las Vegas where potential customers are invited to try out DiamondTouch first hand.
DiamondTouch is the world’s first multi-user touch technology, allowing people to interact simultaneously on a tabletop computer touch screen while the system knows who is who. This makes DiamondTouch an enabling technology for supporting small group collaboration, including CAD design review, graphic design layout, GIS analysis and planning, gaming, project management, and education. The tabletop form-factor allows multiple users to look at each other eye to eye, and because the DiamondTouch is multi-user, everyone can interact at the same time – no need to take turns.
“I am excited to be able to bring the DiamondTouch table out of the lab incubator so that we can invest in marketing and new product development,” commented Adam Bogue, President of Circle Twelve. Bogue added, “With products that we have available for sale today and others planned for the near future, Circle Twelve is well positioned to capitalize on the growing demand in tabletop computing.”
As part of the license agreement, Circle Twelve will support the installed base of DiamondTouch products which have been sold to customers throughout the US and in over 20 countries around the world.
