NEW LONDON, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Fiber Composites, LLC, finalized the agreement to purchase the WeatherBest® composite decking and railing business from Louisiana-Pacific Corporation. The acquisition includes LP’s Meridian, Idaho, manufacturing facility and the WeatherBest® brand.
“The acquisition of the WeatherBest® brand and manufacturing facility secures our position as the second largest manufacturer of composite decking and railing products,” said Doug Mancosh, president of Fiber Composites, LLC. “We expect to transfer the facility within the next couple of weeks.”
Fiber Composites, LLC, known for its quality manufacturing practices and technological innovations in composite manufacturing, plans to make significant investments in WeatherBest and take an already solid, familiar brand to the next level. The company will immediately increase visibility with a new marketing campaign and expanded distribution.
“In addition to grooving the WeatherBest® product for use with Fiber Composites ‘Phantom Fastener’ hidden fastening system, we will add a new Tropical Decking product and our PVC based deck product line to WeatherBest® in 2008,” according to Bill Ross, vice president of sales for Fiber Composites.
Backed by a 20-year limited warranty, WeatherBest® decking and railing provides beautiful aesthetics with reduced maintenance. It is highly resistant to warping, splitting and splintering. High levels of mold inhibitors and UV protection contribute to both longevity and enduring aesthetics.
