HONOLULU--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mentor Scout, a division of Nobscot Corporation, announced today that its new Mentor Scout Talent Networking Edition has been honored as one of the top 10 HR products of the year by Human Resource Executive magazine. Mentor Scout Talent Networking Edition is the first HR tool to use MySpace-style social networking strategies to meet the challenge of talent management, training and retention of Generation Y/Millennial workers.
The Human Resource Executive competition, now in its 19th year, evaluates new HR products for their value to the HR function, innovative contributions to HR management, and ease of use for employees. Entries are judged by a panel of editors who receive comprehensive briefings and product demonstrations.
“This award recognizes the critical role that Mentor Scout Talent Networking Edition can play in nurturing next-generation employees, and in particular combating the massive turnovers expected from a population of workers who see themselves as staying only one or two years at each job,” said Bruce H. Daly, President of Nobscot’s Mentor Scout Division. “Our platform is designed to help keep these employees happy, as well as expedite knowledge transfer and cross-departmental collaboration, by letting them navigate the workplace with the same kinds of social networking tools they use at home.”
Mentor Scout Talent Networking Edition enables employees to create MySpace-style profiles about their professional and personal lives as a means of engaging them with the organization. Tabs such as “Projects,” “Q&A,” “Applause,” “Favorites” and “Get Together” offer a simple way for personnel to get acclimated when they first join a company, find individuals with common personal and/or professional interests, share ideas, gather information for just-in-time learning, form collaborative cross-departmental relationships, and receive positive reinforcement to keep them motivated.
The product also includes a self-service mentor matching function and mentor program tools that have facilitated more than 650 mentorships for organizations from Best Buy and Home Depot to General Mills and the Magazine Publishers of America. The software is Web-based and available by subscription.
Human Resource Executive’s choices for the top 10 HR products and top three training products of 2007 were announced in the magazine’s online edition yesterday and the October 2 print issue released today. Mentor Scout and the other award winners will be honored at a special October 10 awards luncheon during the HR Technology Conference in Chicago.
The 2007 awards mark the second time that a Nobscot Corporation company has earned top HR product honors from Human Resource Executive. WebExit, Nobscot’s online exit interview management system, was recognized in the same competition in 2001. That product automatically captures, tracks and statistically analyzes employee exit interview data, generating comprehensive reports that measure job satisfaction and help identify reasons for employee turnover.
