PISCATAWAY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Telcordia has been ranked by IDC as the global service fulfillment market leader in its recent report, Worldwide Telecom Fulfillment 2007-2011 Forecast and Analysis (Doc #207163, June 2007). According to the study, Telcordia holds 24 percent, more than triple its closest competitor, of the worldwide market that is projected to grow to $2.27 billion by 2011.
“The service fulfillment market’s rapid growth will be driven by the next-generation infrastructure and services that impose new, expanded requirements on operators’ networks,” said Shira Levine, senior analyst for IDC’s next-generation OSS and billing program. “Our analysis clearly shows Telcordia as the market leader, due to a combination of its core products that are a mainstay of the U.S. incumbents and its efforts to expand its influence into the next-generation environment, particularly in international markets."
The IDC study is based on 2006 vendor revenue, changes in service providers’ fulfillment spending trends, and strategic shifts in the telecom fulfillment, network equipment and services industries. The report attributes major factors driving market growth to next-generation architectures and services, service providers’ transformation initiatives, data migration, service delivery platforms and the rise of alternative service providers.
"Telcordia has established itself as the de facto service fulfillment leader based on innovative offerings that help our customers rationally evolve their networks with the added flexibility needed to quickly and efficiently roll out advanced services,” said Michael Anderson, president of Global Solutions, Telcordia. “These offerings include fully automated processes for the deployment of next-generation architectures and products that address an industry shift to integrated solutions. Our comprehensive product suite, combined with our ability to deliver the industry’s lowest total cost of ownership has kept Telcordia at the forefront of this constantly evolving market.”
The Telcordia Fulfillment Suite comprises Telcordia® Granite Inventory, for provisioning, discovery and activation, and Telcordia® Expediter for order management. With the Fulfillment Suite, operators can easily build complex service bundles and have the tools necessary for end-to-end service design, resource management and lifecycle management. It simplifies the fulfillment process because operators can make a single change in service definition and flow that is then automatically funneled down to other support systems, instead of having to make multiple changes at each point in the process. This helps operators speed new services to market, better manage sophisticated services and seamlessly integrate existing systems, which results in increased network efficiencies and lower total cost of ownership.
Telcordia Granite Inventory includes intelligent inventory, provisioning automation, and data synchronization functions in a single, open, flexible service fulfillment solution. By coupling an enterprise-wide view of services, application-specific resources, and the network with a comprehensive set of provisioning capabilities, the suite puts operators firmly in control of their growth. With it, operators can efficiently manage the rollout of new transaction-oriented services; develop network configurations for complex equipment and circuit layout records, use standard templates for the assignment of resources; and gain faster, more accurate provisioning and repair with integrated activation.
The Telcordia Fulfillment Suite has more than 70 customer deployments and is deployed in Tier 1, wireline, wireless and cable operators worldwide.
