ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--J. Devien Capital announced Monday it has successfully completed its acquisition of American Biosurgical and Optiplex Holdings, two leading global distributors of patient vital signs and electrosurgical medical cable assemblies.
The financial terms of the transaction, were not disclosed. Both companies are now a wholly-owned subsidiary of ABI Acquisition Holdings.
"Our newly combined structure and capital base has already generated considerable excitement in the marketplace," noted Joe McGhee, ABI's chairman and chief executive officer. "Beyond the obvious financial resources, our management team holds extensive worldwide sales and operations experience and is well aware of the changing market dynamics which will only serve to strengthen our core business. The response from our customers, business partners and employees has been overwhelmingly positive. We look forward to the future and plan to continue our excellence in the field of engineering design and production management of quality medical cable assemblies and harnesses."
ABI’s experienced management team--a key factor which led to the decision to acquire the company--will provide stronger sales and engineering support as well as enhance the company’s international knowledge base and focus, particularly in Asia and Latin America. The transition in ownership will not have an impact on the company's day-to-day operations. American Biosurgical and Optiplex registered double-digit growth in 2006, with its offices in Atlanta and Phoenix ranking among the highest percentage increases on a year-to-year basis.
