CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Thoma Cressey Equity Partners, a leading private equity investment firm with more than 25 years of experience, is changing its name to Thoma Cressey Bravo. The name change is in recognition of the substantial contributions of Orlando Bravo, a managing partner of the firm and head of its San Francisco office. The firm’s new name will be effective immediately.
A member of the firm since 1998, Orlando Bravo also heads the firm’s software and technology services investments. “Orlando has played an important leadership role in building our very successful San Francisco office and software and technology team,” said Carl Thoma, a managing partner and co-founder, with Bryan Cressey, of Thoma Cressey Bravo and its predecessor firms. “This change reflects our expectation that he will be an important part of the firm’s future as well.”
“We have an enormously talented group of partners and I am honored that they have chosen to add my name to the firm,” said Bravo. “I am excited about working with them and our entire investment team to make the firm successful for years to come.”
Bravo has a MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, a law degree from Stanford Law School and undergraduate degrees in Economics and Political Science from Brown University.
