NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Celebrated actor and musician Drake Bell’s much anticipated Universal Motown Records debut album, It’s Only Time, hits stores tomorrow, Tuesday, December 5. The first single, “I Know,” already added to MTV, as the multi-talented star gears up for a host of promotions surrounding the new album and showcasing his trademark bittersweet pop sound. Bell will be dropping by MTV’s TRL on the day of release to perform the new song live and talk about the video for “I Know,” directed by famed director Neon (Black Eyed Peas, Sergio Mendes), described by Bell as having a ‘1960’s vintage, retro feel.’ The charismatic artist will also be making a special in-store appearance on Thursday, December 7 at FYE’s at the Pallisades Center Mall in West Nyack, NY, sponsored by New York City’s hit radio station Z100, to meet fans and sign copies of the new CD.
Anticipation from fans has been steadily building for the 11-track CD, with Bell slated to perform on NBC’s Late Night With Conan O’Brien on Wednesday, December 6, and on the Fox New Year’s Eve Special on December 31. Plans are also underway for an extensive national radio promotion tour by the accomplished Bell (He also plays guitar and piano), with a possible live tour in the works for ’07.
Universal Motown is also offering fans who purchase the new album a limited edition DVD containing ‘Behind The Scenes’ Nickelodeon from Bell’s hit TV show, Drake & Josh, as well as outtakes from his recent photo shoot, and an acoustic performance and a copy of the “I Know” video. The commercial CD will also contain a free Drake Bell sticker that entitles one lucky fan to win a private concert for ten friends in their home if the product sticker matches a special code.
Drake Bell began his acting career at the age of 5, learning how to play the guitar at 12 years old from none other than Who legend Roger Daltrey, while filming the movie Changing Destiny. He has appeared in numerous TV and movie roles, with his big break coming in 2004 when he was cast to play Drake on the hit Nickelodeon series the Drake & Josh Show, benefiting from his acclaimed appearances on the hit Nickelodeon sketch-comedy series The Amanda Show. Bell has said his character Drake Parker is a mere extension of his musical persona in real life, composing all the songs he plays on the show, including the hit theme song “Found A Way.” Drake took home the Kids Choice Award in 2006 for Favorite TV Actor for his role in the series, with the show winning Favorite TV show, as well.
